Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility

Erasmus+ for Traineeship

The Erasmus+ Traineeship program offers students the opportunity to gain practical training abroad for a period of 2 to 12 months, starting from the first year of study.

Mobility can take place at a research center, company, hospital, biomedical laboratory, or another professional organization located in one of the Erasmus+ Program countries, or, under the 2021–2027 framework, also in a Partner Country.

Types of Mobility

Mobility can be:

  • Curricular: integrated into the student’s study program
  • Post-graduation: to be completed after earning the degree. In this case, the application must be submitted before the graduation date

To ensure quality, the internship should align with the student’s academic and professional path, especially for post-graduation activities.

How to Participate

To apply for Erasmus+ Traineeship, which includes a financial grant, students must:

  • Be regularly enrolled at the University
  • Ensure that the internship abroad is preferably integrated into the study plan

Two participation options are available:

  1. Structured Mobility
    • The Department provides a network of pre-approved host organizations with predefined training projects, ready for activation.
  2. Individual Mobility
    • Students can find their own host organization and propose a personalized training project, subject to approval.

Academic Recognition

  • Curricular internships that are certified receive full academic recognition by the Departments.
  • The mobility period is recorded in the student’s academic record and in the Diploma Supplement, ensuring the formal recognition of the experience.

Why Participate

An internship abroad is a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth, especially in the medical and biomedical fields. It allows students to:

  • Acquire practical and technical skills in the field
  • Work closely with international professionals and researchers
  • Expand their scientific and healthcare network
  • Experience a different cultural and linguistic environment, developing independence and adaptability

Department Experience

  • The Coordination Unit has participated in the Erasmus+ Traineeship program since its first year (2007/2008), leveraging an international network previously developed for student training internships.
  • The Department currently has 18 active agreements for structured mobility across various study programs.

Additionally, the Department’s e-learning platform provides:

  • An updated list of host organizations that have previously hosted students and prefer to manage selection directly
  • A list of active internship offers and links for independently searching international opportunities

The platform also publishes:

  • Open Erasmus+ calls
  • Dates for informational meetings
  • Guidelines for participation and ECTS credit recognition
